Dan Swords

Based in Rhode Island
Like many, I began my career in retail. While delivering helpful, memorable experiences to customers, I discovered my true passion: finding ways to streamline tasks for myself and my coworkers. Eager to pursue this interest professionally, I studied user experience design to create intuitive, user-friendly web experiences.

At Mud Bay, a pet supply retailer, my UX background and dedication to helping others led to a role as a Learning and Development Production Specialist. I applied my visual design skills and love for optimizing workflows to create engaging e-learning content. I believe no one is ever done learning, and during my time there, I deepened my knowledge of instructional models, needs analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and blended learning design.

Now back in New England to be closer to family, I’m excited to continue growing in instructional design—building on a career that blends creativity with a commitment to supporting others’ success.
